5 Digital Date Ideas To Make The Most of Your Weekends

5 Digital Date Ideas To Make The Most of Your Weekends

We don’t know about you, but it feels a little like we’re living in the movie Groundhog's Day - everyday feels the day before. Something about not leaving the house has made us feel particularly stuck in a routine, and we don’t know about you, but we’re in desperate need of a change to keep us motivated. One way of creating a sense of normalcy? Distinguishing between weekdays and weekends.

With pajamas and a bare face becoming the normal work attire, and work hours drifting into the evening, it seems like the weekdays blur straight into the weekends. But think about what your normal habits looked like: You likely wake up early, get ready, and head to work. After work is over, you may go to the gym, make dinner, or watch your favorite show. Then you go to sleep and repeat until Friday night, when the plans change for the next few days. Suddenly you’re feeling free and excited for what’s ahead. Let’s try to recreate that feeling into this period of social distancing by setting up digital dates. So keep reading for your weekend plans, and the multitaskers you’ll need to get there.

Friday Night Happy Hour

Whether you decide to meet up via Google Hangouts, Zoom, or group FaceTime, gathering together digitally to drink a glass of wine on Friday evening is the perfect way to press ‘play’ on the weekend. After work is closing, get ready like you’re going to meet at your favorite bar. Dress up in your favorite outfit (or at least change out of your pajamas… or just keep your pajama pants on and throw on a cute top!), curl your hair, and primp a little. Then pour a glass of wine or shake up your favorite cocktail and sit down for a drink (or 2!) with your girlfriends. You’d be surprised how much you’ve missed socializing!

The Must-Have Multitaskers For Your Happy Hour Look

Go as hard as you want here - do what makes you feel good! If you want to sport a colorful look, try playing with a new eyeshadow palette, like the Wanderess Escape Eyeshadow palette, and pairing with a glossy lip. Or try a bold cat eye look with our High Line Liquid Eyeliner and top it off with a strong cheekbone highlight.<product>1,2</product>

Saturday Morning Coffee

Instead of your daily Starbucks run, catch up with a friend, crush or even a coworker on Saturday morning (or afternoon if you’re sleeping in) with a FaceTime home brew coffee date. Take this date to the next level by trying a home latte recipe (whipped coffee anyone?), or making your own iced coffee.

Must-Have Multitaskers For Lazy Saturday Coffee

After a night of sleep, you’ll want to freshen up with a gentle cleanser and moisturizer. I recommend using Hidden Glow Brightening Cream, as it not only moisturizes, but also creates a subtle glow so you can go foundation-free! Finish the look with a dab of concealer and a swipe of mascara.<product>3</product>

Saturday Night Dinner and a Movie

If you’re not quarantining with your significant other, it’s been a while since you’ve seen them. And even if you are hunkering down together, you (hopefully) haven’t been out on a date since this all began. Make this Saturday night a “date night in," no matter the distance. Pull out the recipe you earmarked for a rainy day, put on your chef’s apron, and start cooking!

If you and boo are in different places, try out a new recipe together by setting up FaceTime and talking through it. You’re likely to get a few laughs from your weak chopping skills and you’ll end up with the same meal, just like if you were together.

After you’re finished cooking, head to the couch to watch a movie together. With the new browser extension, Netflix Party, you can watch a movie or a show together like you’re on a conference call. If one person starts the movie, once the other person clicks in, the host has control over the stop and start of the movie, so you know you’re in the same spot. There’s even a chat room feature, so you can both make your normal side comments while keeping the movie going.

And if you’re flying solo like me… call your best friend, a sibling or any other family member. They’ll be happy to have a date with you!

Must-Have Movie Night Multitaskers

Try out a new bold lip and fluffy brows, and top with mascara. Add a little color using a cream blush to the apples of your cheeks and you’re good to go! You’ll look like you put a ton of effort into your appearance, but in half the time.

(Solo) Sunday Stroll

Taking long walks outdoors is the best way to keep your sanity during this time. The fresh air is good for you, you’ll soak up the vitamin D your body needs, and you’ll feel a little less trapped getting out of your home. This is also the perfect time to call your parents. Put your headphones in and chat with them as you take a stroll through your neighborhood. They’re likely feeling similar to how you are, and they’ll be excited to hear from you.

Must-Have Sunday (Solo) Stroll Multitaskers

Keep it simple. Wash your face, moisturize, and apply SPF. Throw on a pair of sunnies and get out the door.

Sunday Night Spa Time With The Girls

To pamper yourself for the crazy week ahead, treat yourself to a digital spa night with your besties. Jump on a group FaceTime with your gal pals for a night of pampering and gossiping. Put on your favorite pair of pajamas, pop some popcorn, and give yourself the relaxation you deserve.

Must-Have Masking Multitaskers

All of the masking essentials. Give yourself an at home hair mask by applying our Scenic Route 3-in-1 conditioner from root to tip. Then wrap your hair in a head towel or a messy bun, and let it soak for a few hours. Then rinse in the shower.<product>4</product>

Next, give yourself an at home facial with Fast Lane Instant Facial. Apply this mask generously, and let it sit for at least 10-15 minutes before rinsing. Your skin will feel soft and refreshed.<product>5</product>

Finally, top off this spa night with a spritz of a face mist, a few drops of face oil, and a generous layer of lip oil. Now you’re ready to face the week ahead!
