Travel- hate it, love it? Love it (with a capital L)! I caught the travel bug as a little girl and haven’t stopped loving it since. As soon as I get back from a trip, I usually want to start planning the next one.
It’s not a vacation unless…I have a hat on. Wide brimmed, fedora, baseball or knit—I never travel without one.
Planes, trains or automobiles? Any and all of the above! Although I will say I am a better passenger/navigator than driver. Lucky for me, my husband loves to drive.
Checked bags or carry on? Carry on. It’s not worth the risk of losing my stuff and I can squeeze A LOT into my compact carry-on.
Travel beauty- bare or elaborate? Always bare. I like to give my skin a break on travel days and let it breathe.
In general my beauty routine is….consistent. I am a sucker for skincare and follow a multi-step morning and nighttime routine. I cleanse, spray on a hydrating essence, and apply an antioxidant serum, de-puffing eye cream and moisturizer with SPF (always!). In the evenings, I just swap the moisturizer for a heavier night cream. I am the most low maintenance when it comes to my hair. Most days you can find me with my signature top knot—it’s easy, polished and doesn’t budge. Last but definitely not least, I am a “ no makeup makeup" girl. Tinted moisturizer, concealer, a swipe of blush and highlighter—I’m obsessed with Wander Beauty On-The-Glow Blush and Illuminator—and I’m good to go! I’ll add a pop of bright lipstick when I want to feel a little fancier. In all fairness, I have the most amazing lash extensions from Envious Lashes (www.enviouslashes.com), which make my eyes pop without any additional products.
I must pack __________ when traveling? Makeup remover wipes. I could go through a pack in just a few days. And at least three pairs of sunglasses—a girl needs options!
Best travel tip? Create a separate toiletry bag for travel with all of your makeup and minis and keep it in your suitcase. It makes packing quicker, easier and less stressful.
Upon arrival at my destination….I unpack! Once my clothes are hung up and bottles lined up in the bathroom, I’m ready to enjoy and explore.
Favorite travel spot? Naples, Florida. I just got married there in November, so I may be a little biased at the moment.
What are your 3 must see/do things in this city? Take a long walk on the beach, watch the (gorgeous!) sunset at the Ritz-Carlton and get the carrot cake at Truluck's downtown. It’s worth it, I promise.
