How to Maximize Your Time Spent Social Distancing
By Max Brockbank | Mar 25, 2020Social distancing is all about perspective, and at Wander Beauty, we’re all about making the most of our time at home. Here are some of our favorite ways to keep busy and embracing this pause.
Reconnect With Friends
We’ve all been there - you make plans, something comes up, you reschedule, and the cycle repeats. Now that everyone’s at home, it’s the perfect time to actually get together, virtually of course. FaceTime the friends and family you’ve been meaning to catch up with. The “face-to-face” interaction will be sure to perk up everyone’s spirits.
Experiment With Makeup
Maybe it’s time to finally dig out the blue eyeshadow you’ve been saving for a special occasion. Or perhaps there’s an intricate makeup tutorial on YouTube you’ve been meaning to try out. Bring out the rhinestones and get a head start on Halloween makeup! Getting the creative juices flowing can provide a much-needed mental boost.
Catch Up on Your Binge List
Grab some snacks, curl up with a blanket, and binge watch everything on your Netflix “watch” list.
Try Out New Recipes
Finally get to those recipes you’ve bookmarked! Release your inner chef and get to baking, sautéing, and roasting.
Treat Yourself to Some Self-Care
Who doesn’t love a multi-masking moment? Lather your hair with Scenic Route Hair Treatment, pop on a pair of Baggage Claim Eye Masks, and add a layer of Fast Lane Instant Facial. Grab a glass of wine, light some candles, sit back, and relax.<product>1,2,3</product>
Spring Cleaning
It’s easy to feel stir crazy and cramped staying indoors. Doing some spring cleaning can help clear space, mentally and physically. Go through your wardrobe and donate anything that you haven’t worn in the past year. And don’t forget your makeup collection! Wash your makeup brushes and make sure to toss out any expired products. Clean your closet and vanity and try reorganizing the setup for a fresh, new feel.
Reading
Are your bookcases filled with books you’ve been wanting to read but haven’t had the time? Or is your Kindle list bursting with titles you've been meaning to download? Well now is the time. Escape the craziness of the times and unwind with a good read.
Start a New Hobby
Knitting, learning a new language, picking up an instrument - the possibilities are endless! If it exists, there’s a YouTube video teaching you how to do it. Learning a new skill will add some fun variety to what may seem like a never-ending day at home.
