Shower Superheroes: Recreating the Hair Salon Experience at Home

With the shutdown of hair salons, taking care of your hair at home has increased significantly during the pandemic. If you have already given yourself a “quaran-cut” with a DIY hair coloring job, it’s time to give your hair and scalp some much needed TLC. Here are some of our favorite tips for recreating the salon experience right at home!

Cleanse Properly

You may think that washing your hair is simply rubbing in some shampoo and rinsing it off. But did you know there is a proper way to cleanse your hair? The key is not to overwash as it can dry out your hair and scalp. It can also cause dandruff, itching, and persistent flakes. To avoid this, we recommend using a hair refresher to absorb any excess oil your hair has produced to last longer between washes.

So how should I wash my hair?

First, wet your hair with lukewarm water. It’s best to avoid hot water because it will dry your hair and scalp. Apply a pump of All Inclusive Shampoo and Body Wash to your hair and scalp starting from the roots and working your way down to the ends. Massage the shampoo into your hair with your fingertips to wash away any dirt, sweat, and product buildup. Rinse the shampoo out completely and repeat as needed.

All Inclusive is great for reinvigorating dull hair and skin. This 2-in-1 gel-to-foam shampoo and body wash creates a luxurious lather that leaves hair softer and shinier while soothing and calming the scalp. It’s formulated with bamboo extract and coconut oil which help to improve the overall appearance of hair without weighing it down.<product>1</product>

Add Moisture

Just as our skincare routine changes with the seasons, our hair care routine should change as well! In the winter, hair is more likely to get dry and brittle. The easiest way to add moisture to your hair is to use a conditioner. Scenic Route Hair Treatment is our favorite 3-in-1 restorative hair essential. It can be used as a daily conditioner, intensely hydrating hair mask, and detangling leave-in treatment.<product>2</product>

How do I use Scenic Route?

After cleansing your hair with All Inclusive, there are many ways to use Scenic Route! To use as a conditioner, smooth an even layer onto your hair and rinse with warm water after three to five minutes. To use as a hair mask, leave a generous amount of Scenic Route in hair for 20 minutes and then rinse out. To use as a leave-in treatment, apply a small amount onto fingertips and comb through wet or dry hair.

Time to Dry & Style

Put down the hairdryer! One of the best tips we can give for achieving lustrous hair is to avoid any hot tools. Using excess heat on your hair can lead to breakage and frizz. Instead, try using a soft towel or cotton t-shirt to air dry. Avoid any aggressive rubbing motions and gently squeeze water from ends and work your way up.

Which hairstyles should I try?

Although we haven't been able to visit our beloved hair salons, there are plenty of hairstyles you can do right at home! You can embrace your natural locks, do overnight braids for beach waves in the morning, use hair cute clips to keep your hair out of your face, or scroll through TikTok where we've been getting all our inspo these days!
