New Year, New Dew: Here's Every Hack You Need For Effortlessly Glowing

Is it just us, or does beautiful, glowy skin seem to be everywhere? While a glowing complexion has never gone out of style, our Instagram feeds are suddenly flooded with dewy, natural skin in place of the full coverage matte finishes we’ve seen in the years past.

And if you’re craving that luminous look, you aren’t alone. We’re here to break down the simple steps you can take to achieve this complexion perfection while letting your skin show through. Want to learn how? Keep reading!

It Starts With Skin

You’ve heard it before: Great makeup starts with great skincare. Your skin is the base for any look you create, so making sure it starts off moisturized and glowy to begin with (sans makeup) is key to creating any look.

A simple daily skincare routine is as easy as cleansing and moisturizing. To amp things up for an even glowier makeup application, add additional hydration to skin by applying a layer of illuminating/brightening moisturizer pre-makeup, like Hidden Glow Brightening Cream. This adds a warm luminosity to skin while adding even more hydration.<product>1</product>

If you have oily skin, adding moisture can actually help balance skin’s oil production. However, if you want to mattify some areas of skin (such as forehead), use a mattifying primer and apply to those targeted areas. If you’re concerned about texture, a primer that contains silicone will help smooth skin.

Conceal and Perfect

To achieve a glowy your-skin-but-better effect, coverage will depend on what you’re comfortable with. If you’re a less-is-more type, using concealer to spot correct where needed (such as blemishes and under eyes) is a quick and easy way to perfect skin.

If you’re craving more coverage, reach for a foundation that has a glowy, natural skin finish, like Nude Illusion Liquid Foundation. The radiant coverage is skin-like, while the buildable formula allows you to conceal and perfect as much (or as little) as needed.<product>2</product>

To add even more radiance for a customized complexion that’s all your own, add 1-2 drops of your face oil of choice to your liquid foundation. We love mixing directly into your hands before rubbing together (this warms up the product) and pressing into the skin.

Do The Dew

For even more glow, call in the highlighter. Whether you prefer liquid highlight, cream or powder, this is the instant way to boost radiance. For a naturally dewy look, you want to shy away from the disco ball strobe in crazy colors, and lean in to a subtle shimmer or gloss.

Hidden Glow Brightening Cream can be tapped on top of makeup for a warm luminous glow, or reach for your favorite face oil to tap onto the high points of the face for a glossier look.<product>1</product>

Set It and Forget It

If you have oily skin, adding so much shine may be scary. That’s where powder comes in. While powder may seem scary, using it for targeted application can make or break your shine. Use translucent powder on a puff or sponge to combat shine on forehead and chin. Toss it in your bag to touch up throughout the day as needed.
